  2. Mike will initiate the tracking and communication process with the safety team.
  3. Use FMYFA’s Injury Report Form for documentation (digital link coming soon).

Concussion Management

How we deal with concussion

1. Referees and coaches are empowered to flag potential concussions.

2. If a concussion is suspected or a player shows signs of head trauma, they are automatically entered into the RTP protocol.

3. Players are removed from play immediately

RTP
(Return-to-Play)

Steps to RTP

1. Initiated by a licensed physician (Dr. Sai recommended but not required)

2. Parent receives the RTP form directly from Mike Bean

3. 5-step protocol with 24 hours minimum between each step

4. Final clearance must be signed by physician, parent, and approved by Mike Bean

Notes

We keep track

1. Injury reports from last season were submitted via Google Forms, which were overly complex. The new format simplifies to only core facts.

2. Coaches should save Mike’s number and be prepared to contact him during any incident.

3. Mike’s contact number will be printed on the back of the coach badge for 2025.
